Starbucks #BetterCup Campaign

The Starbucks #BetterCup campaign is a social media campaign that was started by Stand.earth, an NPO based in San Francisco, CA. The campaign utilized guerrilla marketing to raise awareness about the lack of recyclability of Starbucks’ coffee cups. The event, taking place at Rutgers University in 2016, was run in conjunction between Stand.earth and university students. Two students dressed up as the Starbucks’ Siren mascots and handed out literature, took photos, and raised awareness for the cause. The campaign’s goal was to capture attention of Starbucks and get the company to make their cups be 100% recyclable.
